“I’m talking about the President. The one who called you a liar, the one who said your wife was ugly.”
Ted Cruz got in an extremely fiery argument with a presenter on American TV over the weekend.
The Texas Senator got in a heated debate with journalist Chris Cuomo, with references being made to Cuomo’s brother (Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York), and Cruz’s wife throughout the exchange.
Cruz, back in 2016, was the runner up for the Republican nomination for the presidential election, and had a very grim relationship with Trump.
It took Cruz longer than most Republicans to endorse Trump, and throughout their spats, the US President even referred to Cruz’s wife as “ugly”.
Since then, Cruz has gone to bat for Trump on a number of occasions, which Chris Cuomo recently questioned him about on television.
“I’m talking about the president. The on who called you a liar, the one who said your wife was ugly”, Cuomo said, while Cruz and he debated Trump’s reaction to Covid-19, as well as Cuomo’s brother’s reaction to the pandemic.
