John Giles spoke about his omission from the RTÉ football panel for Saturday’s game between Ireland and Scotland on Off The Ball last night and he wasn’t pleased to say the least.
Here are the quotes:
“I would have liked to have got a call from the Head of Sport to explain to me what the situation is… I made it very, very clear that I was available and I wanted to do the match.
“There is a contractual situation where I’m contracted to do a certain amount of matches, and I have fulfilled the obligation for those matches. But we’ve always been very flexible on matches that we’ve done, and could do more and do less.
“I was prepared to do an extra match, and made it clear, obviously, there was no extra payment for that match.”
These people are fully behind Giles and vented their frustrations on Twitter.
