WATCH: These Super Bowl ads sent a powerful message to America last night

Rudi Kinsella

These companies certainly didn’t waste their big moment.

It is estimated that 114.4 million people watched the Super Bowl in 2016, and that was just in America alone.

Based on that, you can see why companies are quite keen on having their product promoted during the biggest American sporting event of the year. Who wouldn’t want their product promoted in front of 114.4 million people?

In light of recent events in America, some companies have used this massive occasion to spread a strong, positive message with regards to the political goings on at the moment.

With a lot of emphasis being placed on immigration lately, especially following the recent “Muslim Ban”, these ads couldn’t have come at a better time.

Budweiser documented the story of their founder, who left Germany to go to America to brew the famous beer. The ad shows the negative treatment of an immigrant in America, which is as relevant today as it was back then, if not more so. Have a look for yourself:

Airbnb took a similar approach with their #WeAccept ad, in which they show a number of people of different races and religions, emphasising that everybody is welcome in America, despite what has happened recently.

The two very memorable ads have got everyone talking, but we are still awaiting President Trump’s response.
