The world is still in shock following the publication of the heartbreaking pictures of Aylan Kurdi, the young Syrian boy who washed up on a Turkish beach after his family had attempted to flee their war-torn home country.

If anything positive has come out of the tragic ordeal, it’s that many people have now been spurred into action and are doing what they can to help put a stop to the refugee crisis.

This Saturday, 5 September, has been declared a Day of Action in solidarity with refugees seeking refuge in Europe and Uplift, a non-profit organisation, have arranged a very special event at Electric Picnic.

A Solidarity Vigil will take place at 1pm in the Mindfield Area at the EP site.
