This is a great back building exercise.
The one arm dumbbell row is one of the best strength and size building dumbbell back exercises that works each side of the back independently.
By doing this exercise one arm at a time, you are assuring that one side of the back does not develop more than the other.
Instructions:
- The off-leg should rest on a bench as should the off-hand
- Pick up the dumbbell on the floor and hold the weight while keeping your lower back straight. The palm of the hand should be facing your torso. This will be your starting position.
- Pull the dumbbell straight up to the side of your chest, keeping your upper arm close to your side and keeping the torso stationary.
- Lower the dumbbell straight down to the starting position. Breathe in as you perform this step.
- Repeat for desired amount of reps
- Switch sides and repeat the exercises with the other arm
