Here are the 9 best movies on TV today

Sunday is movie day.

The weather looks like it is about to turn on us at a moment’s notice, so anything that involves being outdoors for any prolonged amount of time is pretty much a no-go.

Instead, we should all enjoy a good movie! You could go the cinema and check out some of the great new releases (we review them all here), or you can sit in and enjoy one of these instead:

SUNDAY 16 JUNE

Hulk – E4 – 6.20pm

The weirdo cast-off cousin of the Marvel movies (so much so, it isn’t counted as a member of the MCU), with the director of Brokeback Mountain attempting to inject some existentialism into the story of a big green angry man. Eric Bana, Jennifer Connolly, and an off-the-rails Nick Nolte star in a truly mesmerizing oddity.

In The Line Of Fire – Virgin Media One – 9.00pm

Clint Eastwood plays the aging Secret Service agent who believes a very dangerous killer (John Malkovich) has specific designs on murdering the President. An incredibly tense thriller.

Jaws – ITV4 – 9.00pm

One of the greatest scary movies of all time.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall – Comedy Central – 9.00pm

Jason Segel gets dumped by his actress girlfriend Kristen Bell, and in an attempt to get over her, treats himself to a lavish holiday, only to find she is there with her new boyfriend (Russell Brand), and in attempt to make her jealous, asks out the hotel’s receptionist (Mila Kunis). An underrated rom-com, which also features Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Jason Bateman, and Kristen Wiig.

Hail, Caesar! – FilmFour – 9.00pm

The Coen Brothers go zany old-school Hollywood in the comedy about behind-the-scenes of movie-making which features (deep breath) George Clooney, Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johannson, Josh Brolin, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Jonah Hill, Frances McDormand, Alden Ehrenreich, and Dolph Lundgren.

Horrible Bosses – RTE One – 9.30pm

Three best friends – Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudekis – decide to team up in order to get rid of their horrible bosses – Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston, and Kevin Spacey – by any means necessary. A decent, turn-your-brain-off-now comedy.

What We Do In The Shadows – BBC Two – 11.15pm

An incredibly darkly funny comedy horror mockumentary, dealing with a group of vampires living in the suburbs, and the difficulties of their day-to-day lives.

St Vincent – Channel 4 – 11.35pm

Melissa McCarthy is a struggling single-mother who has no choice but to leave her 12-year-old son with her new neighbour, a supremely cranky Bill Murray who decides to bring the chap to the town’s strip clubs and race tracks.

Southpaw – FilmFour – 12.55am

Jake Gyllenhaal plays a talented boxer who loses his family, house, and manager following a terrible tragedy. Unsure if he can go on, he crosses paths with Forest Whitaker, a trainer of amateur boxers, who attempts to rebuild him from the ground up. A powerful, emotional drama, co-starring Rachel McAdams, Naomie Harris, and 50 Cent.
