Martin Burke won the biggest ever prize on a National Lottery TV game show.

The taxi driver from Naas will be shown on TV on Saturday night taking home winnings of €1,018,000 on the Million Euro Challenge. Martin foretold his fortune in a poem he wrote last month. Having taken up poetry writing in the last year, in March he wrote a poem about appearing on a National Lottery game show and winning €1 million. Just two weeks later, he got three-stars on a Million Euro Challenge Scratch Card, sent it in to the National Lottery and was chosen to appear on the show. MartinBurke2 Million Euro Challenge will be broadcast on RTÉ One on Saturday night at 7.30pm. Host Nicky Byrne said: "I'm delighted that Martin won the jackpot on Million Euro Challenge. This is what we've been building towards since the beginning of the series and I'm thrilled to be part of such an exciting experience. "
