Irish-made movie The Favourite steals the show at this year’s BAFTAs

The Favourite was definitely the biggest winner on the night.

Irish-made movie The Favourite picked up a number of awards at Sunday night’s 2019 BAFTAs.

The Favourite (which you can read our review of here) is made by the Irish film and television production company Elements Pictures.

The movie picked up a total of five awards, which was the most that any individual movie won on the night.

These included best supporting actress, best actress, best costume design, best original screenplay, and outstanding British film.

Here’s a full list of all the winners from the award ceremony:

  • Best supporting actress – Rachel Weisz (The Favourite)
  • Best director – Alfonso Cuaron (Roma)
  • Best actor – Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody)
  • Best actress – Olivia Coleman (The Favourite)
  • Best film – Roma
  • Best original music – A Star Is Born
  • Best adapted screenplay – BlACKkLANSMAN
  • Outstanding British film – The Favourite
  • Rising Star Award – Letitia Wright
  • Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer – Michael Pearce and Lauren Dark (Beast)
  • Special Visual Effects – Black Panther
  • Film not in the English language – Roma
  • Costume design – The Favourite
  • Best editing – Vice
  • Best documentary – Free solo
  • Best British short film – 73 cows
  • Best British short animation – Roughhouse
  • Best supporting actor – Mahershala Ali  (Green Book)
  • Best original screenplay – Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara (The Favourite)
  • Best animated film – Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse
