Movies on TV

It’s Thursday.

Take a deep breath. We’re almost there. You’ve almost made it through another week. Keep going.

There’s some Premier League on this evening which will see Tottenham take on Chelsea, but if you don’t particularly care about that, there are also some movies on TV as well.

Here’s the pick of the bunch.

The Core – Film4 – 6.20pm

This is a truly awful movie. Basically, the earth’s core stops spinning and the world’s leaders send a crack team down there to let off some nuclear bombs to give it a jumpstart.

But I’d be 100% lying if I said I didn’t watch it every time it’s on TV. It’s one of those.

Jaws – ITV4 – 9pm

Fun fact, Steven Spielberg had three mechanical sharks made to shoot this movie. None of the three of them worked correctly which led to Spielberg shooting the film in a kind of Hitchcock-style of the less you see the more you get.

Of course, it has been repeated many times since.

Failure to Launch – Comedy Central – 9pm

Two parents come up with an elaborate plan in order to get their son to move out of their house.

Matthew McConaughey stars during a time when he was in peak rom com mode.

Pacific Rim: Uprising – Film4 – 9pm

John Boyega is in this and that alone makes it worth watching.

Final Score – Sky One – 11pm

When two terrorists kidnap ex-soldier Michael Knox’s niece, he employs all of his skills to rescue her.

Some would say he’s a man with a very particular set of skills.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
