Movies on TV

It’s Wednesday.

We’re in midweek territory so let’s have a look at some of the midweek movies on TV for you today.

Here’s the pick of what’s on…

Star Trek – Film4 – 6.35pm

The first of the reboot series starring Chris Pine in the lead and a very decent movie overall. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 94%.

Molly’s Game – RTÉ2 – 9.35pm

What kind of game is Molly playing? Well, you’ll have to watch to find out.

Just kidding, the film tells the true story of an Olympic skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game and became an FBI target. Her players, before it all closed in on her, included movie stars, business titans and unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob.

Crimson Tide – ITV4 – 9pm

A good old fashioned nuclear submarine feud starring Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman.

War for the Planet of the Apes – Film4 – 9pm

Film4 are killing it with their Sci-Fi movies today and War for the Planet of the Apes is another fantastic watch.

A really good war movie.

xXx: State of the Union – SyFy – 9pm

Ice Cube plays a military trained version of himself.

Blue Streak – ITV4 – 11.10pm

Look, it’s a ridiculous Lethal Weapon wannabe. But it’s a bit of fun if you’re flicking around.
