Billy Connolly’s last ever stand-up tour will be shown in Irish cinemas and it looks gas

Paul Moore

Billy Connolly

A treat for fans of the comedy icon. Don’t miss out on his last performance.

Billy Connolly could be sitting down, dong nothing aside from scratching his arse and he’ll still be funny. In fact, such is the incredible talent of The Big Yin to make even the most mundane story seem like a riot, he might actually tell a few stories about scratching his arse.

As stated a few weeks ago, the iconic comedian is soon to be retiring following his battle with Parkinson’s. However, this isn’t the time to be reflective or somber.

No way.

In fact, the Scottish comedian has gone the completely opposite route because in the trailer for his new show, Billy Connolly: The Sex Life of Bandages, he’s taking the mickey out of health fads, old people, and anyone that swears by brown bread.

To quote the great man “Is this Billy Connolly the donkey shagger?”

No, it’s Billy Connolly, the comedy icon doing and he’s what he does best.

As for the official synopsis, it states that the show was: “recorded in 2015, during the Australian leg, this whip-smart routine is a riotous journey filled with outrageous tales and blistering observations of everyday absurdities. Screening as a special one-night-only event, Connolly will also muse upon his career, life and legacy in a deeply personal interview filmed exclusively for cinema audiences.”

Billy Connolly: The Sex Life of Bandages will be shown in Omniplex cinemas on Thursday, 10 October.
