This is excellent news.
HBO have confirmed that Curb Your Enthusiasm, one of the longest-running (and one of the best) comedy series on TV, will return for a ninth season in the near future.
With 80 episodes to date, Curb Your Enthusiasm is HBO’s longest-running scripted comedy or drama series, starring the great Larry David in an over-the-top account of his day-to-day life.
David’s tendency to become involved in often painfully awkward situations has entertained audiences for years and there have been cameos from a stellar list of stars, including Ben Stiller, Ricky Gervais and Jerry Seinfeld.
Commenting on the return of the show, Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming said: “We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of CURB and can’t wait to see what he has planned.”
Asked why he decided to come back, David said: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”
We can’t wait.
