Craig’s final Bond movie and 5 more movies and shows to watch this week

Rory Cashin

It is here! It is FINALLY here!

After a long, LONG time to get very, VERY excited, the 25th Bond movie finally arrives in Irish cinemas this week, but it isn’t the only new (or old) release that is vying for your eyes and attention…

The latest episode of The Big Reviewski can be watched in full below or you can skip to the cinema reviews (3:55), home entertainment recommendations (8:11), and classic re-watches (13:12).

Here are the new cinema releases (or should we say release, as there is just the one this week), which will all be available on the big screens around Ireland from Thursday, 30 September.

NO TIME TO DIE

Craig’s fifth and final outing as 007 is bringing together a lot of the threads from his previous movies in an attempt to send him off with a bang. At almost three hours long, it is definitely the most epic Bond movie to date, with some absolutely humungous action scenes spread throughout.

Check out our interview with the latest Bond villain, played by Rami Malek, right here:

And now on to the stuff you can watch at home this week, starting with…

THE GUILTY

Jake Gyllenhaal stars as a police detective who has been demoted to a 911 response operator, but gets caught up in one woman’s call for help when she claims she has been kidnapped. A tense, claustrophobic thriller with a brilliant central performance.

The Guilty is arriving on Netflix on Friday, 1 October.

INFINITE

This is that movie that features, as everyone who has watched the trailer: “Mark Wahlberg stabbing a jumbo jet with a samurai sword.” If that isn’t enough to get you interested and/or excited, then we’re not sure this is the movie for you.

Infinite arrives on Prime Video on Friday, 1 October.

JUDAS & THE BLACK MESSIAH

This two-time Oscar-winning drama tells the true story of Black Panther leader Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya), who is double-crossed by a double-agent (LaKeith Stanfeld) who has infiltrated the group’s ranks.

Judas & The Black Messiah arrives on NOW on Friday, 1 October.

And finally, the amazingly exciting Pizza And A Movie section…

Here are this week’s picks, with the vote once again going up on JOE’s Instagram channel, so keep an eye out on that to have your say!

Rory’s Pick – TRAINING DAY

To celebrate the fact that director Antoine Fuqua has not one but TWO movies out the same day this week – he’s behind both The Guilty and Infinite – then Rory has gone with maybe his most well-known film to date.

Training Day is available to watch on NOW right now.

Eoghan’s Pick – THE PRINCESS BRIDE

Celebrating its 34th anniversary this week, there is never a bad time to watch one of the greatest family-friendly movies of all time.

The Princess Bride is available to watch on Prime Video right now.

Clips via Netflix, Prime Video, Disney, and Warner Bros.
