The most annoying character from Game of Thrones will feature in Season 2 of Derry Girls

Rudi Kinsella

Derry Girls Game of Thrones

Hopefully he’s got a more likable role in Derry Girls.

Ireland as a whole is collectively getting ready for Season 2 of Derry Girls to kick off on Tuesday night.

It feels like an eternity since we last saw the girls (and the wee fella from England) on our screens, and we can’t wait to see them in action again.

And this time around, they’re going to be joined by a very familiar face from another hit television show.

We recently shared the news that a beloved character from the first season will be returning, but we can’t help but be even more excited by this addition.

One of the most annoying characters from Game of Thrones will join the gang, in what we hope will be a less infuriating role.

That’s right, Brenock O’Connor who played Olly in Game of Thrones, has joined the cast of the hit show.

Olly met an unfortunate (and deserved) end in Season 6 of GoT, after an incredibly shameful act of betrayal.

All we know about his new role so far is that O’Connor will play a character called Jon, which we can’t help but think is a nod to his most famous moment in GoT.

We still haven’t forgiven him for that, although he did have quite a troubled childhood, in his defense…

The actor has taken to Twitter to confirm the news, poking fun at how many people despised his character in the legendary show. Seriously, how did he manage to be the most hated guy in a show that had both Ramsay Bolton and Joffrey Baratheon?

Season 2 of Derry Girls returns to our TV screens on Tuesday at 9.15pm.
