Fans of the movie will not want to miss this.

Is there a better Christmas movie than Elf? Let’s be honest here.

Maybe Home Alone just about edges it. Or Die Hard, if that really is a Christmas movie.

Elf is definitely up there anyway. A modern classic, featuring Will Ferrell at his best.

And Irish fans of the movie will get to see it in the flesh at Christmas 2019, as a musical version of the beloved festive classic comes to Dublin’s 3Arena in December.

Elf – A Christmas Spectacular is already a Broadway and West End hit, so it will no doubt go down a treat with Irish audiences.

You can watch a trailer for the show here:

The show will star Coronation Street actress and singer Kym Marsh as Buddy the Elf’s girlfriend, Jovie, and Shaun Williamson (Barry from Eastenders, and Barry from Extras) as Buddy’s dad Walter Hobb. Elf himself will be played by comedy actor Tam Ryan.

The show itself will come to the 3Arena on 28 and 29 December, but tickets go on sale this Thursday 11 April at 9am, and we’d imagine they’ll be gone fairly quickly.

You can get tickets on Ticketmaster right here.
