Netflix is going to play an important part in our lives this Christmas.
We’re already excited for those long nights on the couch binge-watching a new series, or getting stuck into a brand new movie.
Or, in this case, the stand-up comedy special of one of the world’s biggest stars.
Ellen DeGeneres is making a return to where her career started, with her very own Netflix stand-up comedy special.
The chat show host and all around legend of a woman hasn’t done a stand-up performance since 2003, so fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the stage.
In the trailer for the special, we see Ellen address her wealth, her overt kindness, and how she was treated when she came out back in 1997.
She talks about how her sitcom was cancelled after she told the world that she was a lesbian, and how it then took three years for her to get back on television. The reason for this was that “nobody’s gonna watch a lesbian during the day”, to which she replied: “Well they weren’t watching me at night. What time of day is good for a lesbian?”
