QUACK. QUACK. QUACK.

Emilio Estevez has announced that he will reprise the iconic role of Coach Gordon Bombay in the reboot of the Mighty Ducks franchise.

Hollywood’s most legendary junior ice hockey team is getting their skates on once more as part of a new Disney Plus series.

According to Variety, Estevez has said: “Once a Duck, always a Duck! After 25 years, I am delighted to lace up my skates, put on Coach Bombay’s jacket and return to play the iconic character for this new chapter in ‘The Mighty Ducks’ franchise.

“Likewise, I am thrilled to return to my old stomping grounds with my friends at Disney and Steve Brill, the original creator of the franchise, to join them on their exciting new platform, Disney Plus.”

The show will also star Brady Noon, who starred in 2019 comedy Good Boys, and Lauren Graham, famous for her role as Lorelai Gilmore in The Gilmore Girls.

Estevez first played the role in the movie The Mighty Ducks, which was released in 1992.

Disney Plus is set to launch in Ireland on 24 March, after its launch date was brought forward by a week last month.
