Looks like dying didn’t take for Michael Myers.

2018’s Halloween, arriving 40 years to the day (sort of) from the original, was a re-boot-quel that did away with a lot of the nonsense that the intervening sequels pumped into the franchise, and placed Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode as a PTSD-rattled survivor.

It was a clever updating on what could have been just a lazy rethread, with the great additions of Laurie’s daughter (Judy Greer) and granddaughter (Andi Matichak) to show the generational trauma that Michael Myers has left behind.

It also was intended as the full-stop to the franchise, with (SKIP TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH TO AVOID SPOILERS!) Michael burned up in a trap that Laurie had built years in advance.

However, once the $10 million production made over $250 million at the box office, the full stop soon became a comma, as not one but TWO sequels were put into production.

Jamie Lee Curtis shared the first footage from Halloween Kills, the first of the two sequels which should definitely ABSOLUTELY be the end of the franchise, and not only does it show that Michael seems to have survived the trap, but also that Laurie is in some bloody trouble. Literally.

Halloween Kills arrives on 16 October 2020, and then we’ll be getting Halloween Ends on 15 October 2021.
