Tá an gheimhridh ag teacht
The most recent season of Game of Thrones may have ended but I’m still trying to process all the events from those ten stunning episodes.
The long wait for Season 6 probably means that fans of the show are feeling more miserable than Cersei in the dungeons which is why we decided imagine what some of characters would be like if they were famous Irish people.
There are mild spoilers but take a look.
Jon Snow is…
The boy wonder who seemed destined for greatness, even from a very young age. He’s talented, inspiring and driven although there are moments when he’s prone to making errors of judgement, he can be a bit of a wildling at times. I have to mention he fantastic curly hair.
He’s clearly…Rory McIlroy (Caroline Wozniacki might also call him a bastard)
Daenerys Targaryen is…
A leader that seems to earn the realms affection because she has that balance between the common touch and the ability to ask the tough questions.
She has had to work incredibly hard to get to the top but her name and golden hair is known all around Westeros.
She’s clearly: Miriam O’Callaghan
Tyrion Lannister is…
Gifted, talented and a progressive thinker who has skills that no other person in Westeros has, especially when it comes to politics and decision making. This being said, his height is frequently used against him and he doesn’t seem to be trusted by those above him.
He’s clearly: Wes Hoolohan
Littlefinger is…
Scheming, mischievous, untrustworthy and he’s the man that instigated the current turmoil and anarchy in Westeros.
He’s clearly: Bertie Aherne
The Hound is…
Fierce, combative but honourable also. He seems to take pleasure in fighting with people but there’s an honour and integrity to what he does. Then again, he also is capable of being an absolute rogue.
He’s clearly: Roy Keane
We even took the time to draw up an image of what Roy would look like in chain mail.
Eddard Stark is…
Well meaning, hard working but so naive. During his tenure as Hand of The King, he looked so out of his depth that he needed arm bands. He didn’t last long in the cut-throat world of King’s Landing.
He’s clearly: Steve Staunton
Arya Stark is….
On a mission to be the biggest bad-ass in all of Westeros. A ruthless, cold blooded killing machine that has an impressive set of skills. She’s becoming versatile when switching between roles.
She’s clearly: Liam Neeson.
Joffrey and Tommen Baratheon are…
Two brothers that came into power from a young age but seemed to divide opinion with their antics. Those who support them are avid fans though.
They’re clearly: Jedward
Davos Seaworth is…
Honourable, loyal and independent.
He’s clearly: Liam Cunningham (it’s impossible to separate them)
Jamie Lannister is…
The pretty boy whose name is famous all over the world after slaying the Mad King. His wild antics seem to have slowed down this season because of the impact of fatherhood.
He’s clearly: Colin Farrell.
Alliser Thorne is…
Gruff, angry but a leader. Jon Snow’s best buddy on The Wall is a man who lives by his own principles and seems to have forged a formidable army from a bunch of adolescents. His close subjects remain incredibly loyal to him.
He’s clearly: Davy Fitz.
Jorah Mormont is…
The very definition of the phrase ‘you either love him or hate him’.
He’s clearly: Bono
The Mountain is…
A man that can beat the living crap out of anyone in the realm.
He’s clearly: Conor McGregor.
Maester Aemon is…
A stranger in a foreign land that eventually was beloved by all.
He’s clearly: Jack Charlton
