Jungle Cruise

Booby traps, adventure, The Rock. We’re in.

Summer blockbuster season is now the domain of Disney. Aside from boasting the likes of Pirates of the Caribbean, the Mouse House now owns the rights to Star Wars, Indiana Jones and the MCU.

Basically, when it comes to big summer blockbusters, they’ve got you sorted.

To make things even better, Jungle Cruise features two of the coolest and most charismatic people that Hollywood has to offer, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Emily Blunt.

Aside from being incredibly talented, the British actress is also an absolute joy to be around – case in point, JOE’s own Rory Cashin chatting to her for A Quiet Place.

In her next film, all the popcorn boxes are ticked. Action set pieces, deadly booby traps, an adventure brimming with danger, sharp one-liners. They’re all here.

Having seen the trailer, we’re getting strong vibes of Indiana Jones, Jumanji, The Mummy and the very first Pirates of the Caribbean; Jungle Cruise is also inspired by a famous Disneyland theme park ride.

Granted, that’s a lot of films but you’ll know exactly what we mean when you see it for yourself.

Plot’s it all about?: The Amazon-jungle expedition sees Dwayne Johnson play a charismatic riverboat captain who has to transport Emily Blunt’s determined explorer on a research mission. Simple as.
