John Stamos and the cast of Big Shot reveal their favourite high school movies and shows

Stamos also tells us about his time touring around Ireland with The Beach Boys.

Depending on your generation, you may know John Stamos from the likes of General Hospital, Full House, or ER. More recently, you may know him from Fuller House, You, or Scream Queens. And there is likely an entire subset of people who may become aware of him initially as the answer to a question in Step Brothers that brought Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly closer together. Stamos has been a staple of Hollywood royalty for decades now, and he's headlining Disney+'s new sports teen drama Big Shot. In the show, Stamos plays Marvyn Korn, an NBA coach who is fired when his anger management issues result in a referee being injured. Finding it impossible to find another professional team willing to take him on, he must begin rebuilding his career by taking on the job of coaching an all-girls high school basketball team. The first episode will premiere on Disney+ on Friday, 16 April. Clip via Disney Plus In the run-up to the release of the show, JOE had a chance to chat to Stamos about his favourite teen drama or comedies, and whether they had an impact or influence on the new show. Big Shot, which is executive produced by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing), also features a very impressive cast playing the basketball team, and JOE also got to chat to a lot of them, including Sophia Mitri Schloss, Nell Verlaque, Monique Green, Tisha Custodio, Cricket Wampler, and Tiana Le, and they all chatted about their favourite high school movies and shows, too. You can check out our chat with the cast right here: Also, Stamos happened to bring up visiting Ireland recently, so we asked him a little bit more about that, and he told us the following: "I travelled everywhere with The Beach Boys, I think I've been just about everywhere with them. We had a great tour of Ireland. "When I was a kid, I went to Ireland with my high school band. We were like this ragtag crappy band when we went over there, but we worked hard and we took the number one spot all over the place. It was really special. "We were in Dublin mostly, and I was just there with The Beach Boys, but we just kinda skipped through that time on our way to Scotland and then wherever they go. But it was great audiences there. I remember it being beautiful, it was so great."
