To mark the release of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, JOE takes a behind the scenes look at the percussion recording session of the excellent soundtrack.
Long-term Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer is the man at the helm, complete with his very own apt ‘Superhans’ tshirt.
Forget having one drummer on the score though.
With Superhans’ goal to “meld them into one giant machine of energy,” why not just gather some of the greatest session percussionists of all time in one room, hit the record button and get them to make, in the words of Brick Tamland, “LOUD NOISES” for 9 hours straight.
Easy.
Keep an eye out for John JR “the most recorded drummer in history” Robinson, Prince’s drummer Sheila E and Pharrell Williams, clearly taking from time off from getting lucky with Daft Punk.
Man of Steel is currently on release in Irish cinemas
