Matthew Perry has tweeted an update following a lengthy period in hospital. According to E!News, he has been in hospital following a gastrointestinal surgery. The Friends star took to social media to inform his fans that he is okay, in a very concise tweet... https://twitter.com/MatthewPerry/status/1040766998429364224 It was Perry's first tweet since 23 March. The tweet didn't clarify whether he has been released from the hospital, or whether his treatment is ongoing. When the Canadian actor was initially admitted to the hospital, a spokesperson released this statement on his behalf: "He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals." Perry has been extremely open regarding struggles with his health in the past, including a lengthy battle with drugs and alcohol. He has since opened up the Perry House - his own sober-living facility.
