An absolute classic of the buddy cop action movie sub-genre that celebrated its 35th anniversary earlier this year.

The fourth solo Predator film and the last before the series’ terrific recently released prequel Prey.
Mary Queen of Scots – RTÉ2 – 9pm
This 2018 historical drama tells the story of Mary, Queen of Scots (Saoirse Ronan) and her attempt to overthrow her cousin Queen Elizabeth I (Margot Robbie).
Legends of the Fall – Great! Movies Classic – 9pm
Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and Aidan Quinn star in this solid ’90s Western epic.
Who You Think I Am – BBC Four – 9pm
Oscar-winner Juliette Binoche is the lead in this acclaimed French drama based on the topic of catfishing.
Anna – Virgin Media Two – 9.05pm
Cillian Murphy, Helen Mirren and Luke Evans are among the cast of this action thriller about a young woman (Sasha Luss) who becomes an assassin.
Meet the Parents – RTÉ One – 9.25pm
Robert De Niro shows off his comedy chops in this fun movie about the horror of meeting your girlfriend’s parents.
Kevin and Perry Go Large – Comedy Central – 9.25pm
Two inseparable teen boys (Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke) who are avoided by all others head to Ibiza with one of their parents in this big-screen spin-off of the sketch show Harry Enfield & Chums.
Deadpool – Channel 4 – 10pm
Ryan Reynolds is the Merc with a Mouth in this irreverent superhero flick.
Kill Bill: Vol 1 – Sky Showcase – 10pm
The first part of filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s excellent martial arts epic.
The Parole Officer – TG4 – 10.40pm
This British comedy sees Steve Coogan play a parole officer who must prove his innocence after a murder accusation.
Rocky II – ITV4 – 11.05pm
Boxers Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) return to the ring in this hit sequel.
Salt – Film4 – 11.10pm
This solid action thriller centres on a CIA operative (Angelina Jolie) who goes on the run after being accused of being a Russian sleeper agent.
A Nightmare on Elm Street – Turner Classic Movies – 11.15pm
Filmmaker Wes Craven’s horror classic about the dream demon Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) and the teenager (Heather Langenkamp) he hunts.
Sorry We Missed You – RTÉ One – 11.30pm
From director Ken Loach (The Wind that Shakes Barley), this acclaimed social realist drama focuses on a father who hopes that self-employment through the gig economy can solve his and his family’s financial woes.
Greta – BBC One – 11.45pm
Last but not least is our pick for tonight which is about a young woman in New York City (Chloë Grace Moretz) whose life becomes a nightmare after she meets a lonely older woman (Isabelle Huppert) who becomes obsessed with her.
Directed by Ireland’s own Neil Jordan (The Crying Game), Greta is a notch above many similar stalker thrillers mainly thanks to Huppert’s multi-layered turn as the villainous title character who she manages to make funny, terrifying and human all at once.
