movies on tv today

It’s a stormy one out and there’s plenty of movies on.

It’s windy, it’s rainy and there’s weather warnings out in some areas. The best thing you can do is kick it on the couch and watch some sweet, sweet movies.

And never fear, we have a list of what’s coming up on TV today… well most of them anyway.

All Creatures Great and Small – BBC2 – 2pm

The story of a young veterinarian’s apprenticeship to a somewhat eccentric older vet in the English countryside.

Grumpy Old Men – RTÉ2 – 2.35pm

Two men fall in love with their neighbour. Comedy ensues.

Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World – ITV2 – 2.55pm

Honestly didn’t know they made four of these.

Antz – ITV2 – 4.45pm

Came out around the same time as A Bug’s Life and I constantly get them confused.

Yes Man – ITV2 – 6.25pm

Director: Hey Jim, you know that movie Liar Liar you made?

Jim Carrey: Yes, of course.

Director: Well it’s exactly like that, except this time you can’t say no to anything.

Jim Carrey: Nice.

Finding Dory – RTÉ One – 6.35pm

Lacks the surprise of Finding Nemo. But still, cute talking fish.

Sahara – E4 – 6.35pm

Matthew McConaughey, before he lost weight for Dallas Buyers Club, playing a very Matthew McConaughey role for the time.

Skyfall – ITV2 – 8.30pm

In case you missed it all those times it was on over the Christmas.

Ride Along – Virgin Media Two –  9pm

Kevin Hart goes on a “ride along” with a police officer, who happens to be his girlfriend’s brother. Ice Cube stays in his comfort zone… angry.

Alien: Covenant – Channel 4 – 9pm

Life lesson, if you land on another planet, don’t f**king touch anything.

Riddick – E4 – 9pm

Vin Diesel fights for survival on a sun scorched planet.

Smilla’s Sense of Snow – TG4 – 9.18pm

Gabriel Byrne and Richard Harris star in this one.

Taken 2 – RTÉ2 – 9.25pm

At what point do we start to consider Brian Mills might not be a good father?

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie – BBC2 – 10pm

Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders accidentally kill Kate Moss, but in a funny way.

My Left Foot – RTÉ One – 11pm

A classic.

The Expendables 3 – Virgin Media One – 11pm

Sigh.

Why Him? – RTÉ2 – 11.05pm

Not Bryan Cranston’s best career decision, but you will get some laughs.

The Maze Runner – Channel 4 – 11.20pm

This is a tricky one to explain. Simplest answer is; fast guys run around maze searching for way out.
