WATCH: The trailer for Klaus, the first animated feature from Netflix, is gonna be a Christmas favourite
The co-creator of Despicable Me has given us this new spin on where Santa comes from.
Get excited, or terrified or whatever way the near jingle of Christmas makes you feel because the Santa movies are beginning to roll in.
And first on the list is Klaus.
This first for Netflix tells the story of a boy named Jesper (Jason Schwartzman) who is seen as the postal academy’s "worst student" and is stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, where the feuding locals hardly exchange words let alone letters.
Jesper is about to give up on all when he finds local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones) and Klaus (J.K. Simmons) - a mysterious carpenter who lives alone in a cabin full of handmade toys.
Their unlikely friendships return laughter to Smeerensburg, forging a new legacy of generous neighbours, magical lore and stockings hung by the chimney with care.
This animated holiday comedy is set to be a favourite among the whole family and is directed by Despicable Me co-creator Sergio Pablos.
Klaus is set for global release on the streaming platform on Friday 15 November, marking the almost one-month countdown to Christmas.
Bring it on!
