A rare interview with the actor who plays The Night King in Game of Thrones has terrified us ahead of Season 8

A man of few words both on and off the screen, the actor who plays the The Night King from Game of Thrones has just given a rare interview.

We are now just over a month out from of what is surely one of the greatest TV spectacles of all time – the final season of Game of Thrones.

And while we have recently got our first look at the official trailer, and heard some hype-building comments from cast members, one person we have hardly ever heard from is Vladimir Furdik, the actor who plays the scariest bad guy on television, The Night King.

That is until now…

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Furdik addressed a number of subjects, some of which will get you even more excited for the new season than you already are.

When asked why he was cast in the first place, he said: “When we did season 5, I was the White Walker who fought Jon Snow [in Hardhome] — the first time Jon Snow killed a White Walker, that was me. After that, [showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] asked if I’d play the Night King for seasons 6 through 8. I never asked why. Maybe they were happy with what I did in season 5”

Speaking about the instructions he’s been given when it comes to playing The Night King, he said that he has been instructed to play him with some human qualities, while also being strongly advised not to blink…

But the highlights of the interview comes when he speaks about what he has in store for Season 8.

“People will see he has a target he wants to kill, and you will find out who that is. There’s also that moment [in “Hardhome”] when Jon Snow was on the boat and the Night King looked at him and raised his arms — there’s a similar and even stronger moment between Jon and the Night King this time.”

And when asked what his favourite Night King moment is, he said: “That’s still coming.”

Yep. That’s us terrified anyway.
