The 1995 film's cast includes Gerard McSorley, John Lynch and Michael Gambon and will also be available to stream for free.

Nothing Personal, the 1995 Irish thriller drama from director Thaddeus O'Sullivan (December Bride, Ordinary Decent Criminal), is airing on TV tonight (Friday, 15 May).

Adapted from a novel by Irish writer Daniel Mornin, the movie takes place in 1975 Belfast, which has erupted into violence once again after the bombing of a Protestant bar by rival Catholics.

"Only hours later, Protestant fighters Kenny (James Frain, The Tudors) and Ginger (Ian Hart, Backbeat) retaliate by killing a Catholic, starting a full-scale riot," the plot synopsis adds.

"Liam (John Lynch, Some Mother's Son), a Catholic single father, attempts to help the victims of the fighting, but soon finds himself on the wrong side of the Protestant-Catholic divide."

Praised upon release for its authenticity, its performances, and its hard-hitting portrait of Troubles violence, Nothing Personal is airing on TV tonight/tomorrow morning on Film4 at 1.40am.

If that's too late for you, the movie will also be available to stream for free on Channel 4's website from Saturday, 16 May.
