6 huge movies and shows coming to Prime Video in May

A great mix of action, romance and big mysteries...

As well as regularly updating its library with the addition of some big classic movies - like the 19 it added just this week - Amazon Prime Video has also just revealed its line-up for big new shows and movies arriving on their service throughout the month of May. Starting with... THE WILDS SEASON TWO Picking up from where the well-received first season left us, the teenage girls on the isolated island are still recovering from the knowledge that [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS], and they soon discover on a nearby island that they are not the only ones here. All episodes of the second season will be available to watch from Friday, 6 May. THE CONTRACTOR This action-thriller tells the story of discharged U.S. Special Forces sergeant James Harper (Chris Pine), who risks everything for his family when he joins a private contracting organisation. Co-stars Kiefer Sutherland, Gillian Jacobs, Ben Foster and Eddie Marsan. The movie will be available to watch from Friday, 6 May. SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Inarguably one of the very best animated movies ever made, as well as one of the very best comic book adaptations ever made, this mind-bending, eye-popping adventure tells the story of Miles Morales, how he came to be his universe's version of Spider-Man, and why he needs the help of alternative Spider-Men, Women and Pigs to help save reality from crumbling. The movie will be available to watch from Friday, 6 May. RESPECT Telling the story of one of the most famous and most beloved performers in musical history, this follows rise of Aretha Franklin (here played by Jennifer Hudson) from a child singing in her father's church's choir to her international superstardom. The movie will be available to watch from Monday, 10 May. LOVESTRUCK HIGH A brand-new test on the reality TV format will see a group of 15 people from the UK transported to a very American high school, all in the hopes of finding love. Best of all, it will be narrated by none other than Lindsay Lohan. The show will launch on Wednesday, 18 May. NIGHT SKY Academy-Award winners Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons head this mysterious sci-fi series about a couple who discovered a transporting portal on their land and have been keeping it a secret for decades, only for things to take a turn when a stranger appears and starts asking questions...
