You won’t have to wait too long to read it either.
Cecelia Ahern has announced that she has written a sequel to P.S. I Love You, one of the most popular Irish books of all time.
The story follows a married couple who live in Dublin and who are madly in love with each other. Without going into too much detail, the husband in the book suddenly dies and leaves 10 envelopes, one for each month after his death, containing messages from him, all ending with “P.S. I Love You”.
Published in 2004, the romantic book reached number one best-seller status in Ireland, Britain, the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands. So it’s safe to say it was a success.
It was then adapted into a film starring Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank in 2007, which further increased its popularity.
Ahern took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to say that the sequel, entitled Postscript, will be available to readers in Ireland and the UK on 19 September.
🚨 I have BIG NEWS! 🚨
I’ve written the sequel to PS I LOVE YOU – titled POSTSCRIPT.
POSTSCRIPT will be published September 19th in the UK & Ireland. I hope you’ll welcome back Holly… & Gerry…& that reading it will be as emotional for you as it was for me. 💙#Postscript pic.twitter.com/ldAqLfFpmv
