We haven’t seen anything like this in a while.

In the early hours of Monday morning, the annual Royal Rumble took place in Phoenix, Arizona, and it was a pretty damn good one.

From an Irish point of view, it was a mixed night. Becky Lynch won the female Royal Rumble, and got one of the biggest crowd reactions of the night when she did so, while Finn Balor lost his Universal Title match against Brock Lesnar.

We’ll take it…

But one moment stood out to fans more than any as the most shocking of the night, and that moment came in the men’s Royal Rumble match.

Nia Jax entered the Rumble, and although she was not the first woman to do so, she is the first to get involved in this sort of action.

She did a bit of damage herself, before taking a kick to the head from Dolph Ziggler, and a good ol’ fashioned 619 from Rey Mysterio.

But this was all building up to one huge moment, when Randy Orton landed his legendary RKO on her.

Have a look here:

Ouch.

Nia Jax has since taken to Twitter, and as sore as the RKO looked, she doesn’t seem too shook by the whole thing.

There has recently been rumours to suggest that the WWE is starting to lean more towards the idea of male on female matches, and based on what happened here, it certainly looks that way.
