More like dog-umentary, am I right?

Some important news to brighten up this grim, overcast Wednesday – TG4 will air a new documentary series on the important and unique relationship between human beings and dogs.

The greatest bond of all, we think you’ll find.

Set over two parts, The Secret World of Working Dogs / Saol an Mhadra Bháin tells the stories of men, women and children whose lives have been dramatically changed and improved by the presence of a working dog.

The bilingual documentary will also explore the extraordinary abilities of working dogs and how they have helped doctors and scientists discover breakthrough medical solutions to worldwide health problems.

Scientists at leading research centres in Ireland and the UK will illustrate how dogs are revolutionising treatment of many illnesses from cancer, epilepsy and diabetes to autism and visual impairment.

“Could it be that dogs will soon play an even more prominent role in our national health services?” asks the documentary, which premieres on TG4 on Wednesday 27 November at 9.30pm.

You can check out the trailer below, which features some legitimately incredible dogs.
