Our TV movie pick for tonight (Wednesday, 15 October) is The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, arguably the greatest Western of all time.
The film follows three gunslingers (played by Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef) as they compete to find a fortune in a buried cache of Confederate gold amid the violent chaos of the American Civil War.
The third and final instalment in director Sergio Leone's legendary Dollars Trilogy (also including A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is the quintessential spaghetti Western thanks to its highly stylised gunfights and iconic Ennio Morricone score.
Also well-known for being the movie that cemented Clint Eastwood's star status, the film's climactic standoff has been homaged multiple times, including by Quentin Tarantino in Reservoir Dogs.
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly is airing on TV tonight on ITV4 at 9pm. The Western is also available to rent on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play and the Sky Store.
