The new horror show that’s based on extremely disturbing real events looks very good

Required viewing for horror fans.

Paul Moore

From the creators of The Walking Dead and The X-Files.

Every horror story and gothic tale has some grounding in real-life events and in some cases, the truth is far more terrifying than fiction.

From the executive producer of The Walking Dead and the executive producer of The X-Files, Aaron Mahnke’s beloved Lore podcast is getting a TV adaptation and horror fans should absolutely love it.

The series will uncover, investigate and document the real-life events that spawned some of our darkest nightmares.

By blending dramatic scenes, animation, archive footage, narration and a documentary aesthetic, Lore reveals how beloved horror legends – such as vampires, werewolves and body snatchers – are all rooted in truth.

The series will consist of six separate stories, each one based on real people and events that have led to our modern-day myths.

We’re promised that each episode will feature “meticulously-researched true life tales that are told through a variety of mediums, in order to surprise and delight, and even unsettle.”

By using a mix of documentary footage, narration, historical mixed media and cinematic recreations to bring the horrific stories to life, Lore will get to the root of horrors greatest stories.

For example, we’ll get to see true-life tales of a demonic doll, a family whose home appears to be inhabited by a spirit from the other side, and a German village that hunts for a murderous creature.

The anthology creeps onto Amazon Prime Video on Friday 13th October.
