She passed away peacefully on Wednesday.
The One Show paid tribute to the memory of late BBC presenter Rachael Bland in a deeply moving segment that aired the day after her tragic death from cancer.
After tweeting earlier in the week that she only had days to live, the Radio 5 Live presenter’s family shared the news on Wednesday that she had passed away “peacefully” following a long battle with cancer.
She had described her journey on the podcast, You, Me and the Big C.
Her co-hosts on the podcast, Deborah James and Lauren Mahon, joined Matt Baker and Alex Jones on The One Show to reflect on Bland’s journey and the bravery she showed throughout.
"It's tragic and it's awful but at the same time we can take a lot of comfort from the way that she lived."

“I woke up this morning and felt so proud of our girl,” James said. “I felt so proud to be part of her life. It’s tragic, and it’s awful, but at the same time, we can take a lot of comfort from the way that she lived up until she died.”
The continued on to say some lovely things about the presenter.
"There was a need to demystify what cancer looks like."
