It was very well-received.
Irish viewers are more used to seeing him as Patrick Ward on Love/Hate, but on Wednesday night, John Connors was earning plaudits for a role in another RTÉ series.
The first episode of a three-part series, John Connors: The Travellers, aired on RTÉ last night as John and a team of collectors from the travelling community set about researching, documenting and collecting Traveller history and folklore for a project on behalf of The National Folklore Collection in UCD.
Up until now, there hasn’t been much documentation of Traveller history in Ireland and what does exist has been penned by ‘settled people’.
The project that John and his team are working on, once completed, will reside in the national archives.
Judging by the comments on social media last night, the first episode, which you can catch on RTÉ Player
here, went down very well with viewers.
"Fascinating" was the word most used to describe it and you catch episode 2 at the same time next week.
