Three years ago, two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring over 250 in the process. After images of suspects Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev were released publicly, they killed an MIT policeman and engaged in a firefight with police, which resulted in Tamerlan’s death. Dzhokhar was subsequently arrested and in May 2015, was sentenced to death, a sentence he is currently appealing. Patriots Day tells the story of a day that Boston will never forget. Plot's it all about? Patriots Day documents the events before and after the Boston Marathon bombing, including a city-wide manhunt in the aftermath of the bombing in an attempt to find those responsible.
