That’s the pitch for Ryan Gosling’s latest cinematic adventure as the versatile actor steps into the especially famous shoes of Neil Armstrong; the first man to walk on the surface of the moon.
Plot’s it all about?
First Man sees Gosling re-team with La La Land director Damien Chazelle to tell the story of NASA astronaut Neil Armstrong and the legendary space mission that brought him to the moon in 1969.
The film focuses on the lead-up to and events of that fateful event, chronicling Armstrong’s life from the early 60s up until his historic achievement.
As the below trailer illustrates, it wasn’t plain sailing as Armstrong faced a potentially fatal journey into space while also struggling with family life back on earth.
So it’s a kitchen-sink drama peppered with dramatic outer space action. Sold.
