Not long to wait before we get to see if the third season will be a return to quality.
True Detective....
True. Detective.
What does that title mean? This is probably one of those things we shouldn't think too long or too hard about, isn't it?
Moving on.
After the phenomenal first season and the not-great-but-better-than-you-heard/remember second season, it looks like Season 3 will be a return to quality, not least because it will be headlined by Oscar-winner and so-hot-right-now Mahershala Ali.
The latest trailer gives a bit more of a the plot, as Ali and his partner (Blade's bad guy Stephen Dorff) investigate a macabre crime involving two missing children in the Ozarks, but we also see the story will be taking place over three different time periods.
The season is also set to be helmed by the show's creator Nic Pizzolatto (marking his directorial debut), as well as episodes directed by Jeremy Saulnier (Green Room, Hold The Dark) and Daniel Sackheim (Game Of Thrones, Better Call Saul).
And now for even more good news: Sky Atlantic and Now TV will show the episodes from the third season pretty much on the same day as the folks get to see on HBO in the States.
The first episode of the new season will air on Sky Atlantic at 2am and again at 9pm on Monday 14 January, and the episode will also be added to the Now TV collection on the same day.
Exciting times!
