Victorian Psycho, the adaptation of the hit horror thriller novel by Virginia Feito, will land in cinemas in Autumn 2026.
"Strange, unsettling incidents become harder to ignore as Winifred descends into madness, and her increasingly brutal acts shatter the calm of the estate," the plot synopsis adds.
"How far will this psycho killer go, and who will survive her wrath?"
Having premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year, Victorian Psycho earned very positive reviews, of which you can read a sample below:
Bloody Disgusting: "Carnage becomes pretty delightful in Maika Monroe’s capable hands."
Collider: "With a talented ensemble cast to boot, Victorian Psycho is a vivid, violent, and dangerously funny win for Monroe, Feito, and Wigon."
The Film Stage: "More than a well-crafted thriller, Victorian Psycho proves a rousing comedy, its trio of great actors never missing the mark with a stoic line delivery."
Mashable: "Victorian Psycho is a hoot, wildly fun, and unapologetically deranged on its surface.
Next Best Picture: "Ultimately, the strength of Winifred’s inner dialogue keeps the film focused. Led by a sensational Maika Monroe and an impressive tonal balance, Victorian Psycho delivers a spooky, entertaining exploration of female rage."
Screen International: "For all its demented genre excess, Victorian Psycho plays like a welcome, cathartic primal scream."
Directed by Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary), Feito wrote the script for the book adaptation. The cast also includes Jason Isaacs (The Patriot, the upcoming Ireland-shot Silverback), Ruth Wilson (Luther), and Thomasin McKenzie (Old).
