Angelina Jolie stars as the most evil and scary of all Disney characters, Maleficent. We won't sleep for weeks
If you're anything like JOE, you spent the entirety of your childhood absolutely scared to death of Maleficent, the villain from the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty. We have been assured by trained professionals that this is a normal reaction, and that it was not uncommon to have studied the occult at age four in order to protect ourselves from the horrors of her and her stupid pet crow.
Anyway, they're planning a dark and scary remake of the tale from that evil witch's perspective (apparently the children's cartoon wasn't scary enough already) starring Angelina Jolie as the frankly terrifying titular character, and while we don't wish to offend Angelina, she really does suit the role perfectly.
The trailer gives us a little look at the story, which will already be familiar to most of us, although there are a few Lord of the Rings-esque battle scenes that look to be a new addition, and the haunting soundtrack from Lana Del Rey adds another creepy layer to proceedings. In order to avoid psychological trauma (again), we will be watching this one from the safety of behind the couch.
