The Showtime series may have lost a familiar face or two, but if this trailer is anything to go by, it’s going to be as thrilling and tense as ever when the show returns early next month.
As fans of the show will know only too well, a hell of a lot happened at the end of Season 3, so there’s a lot to pick up on as we wait to see what’s next for Carrie, Saul and company.
Both of those central characters play a prominent role in the latest Season 4 trailer, as does Sandy Bachman, a newcomer played by Corey Stoll, who some of you will remember as Peter Russo from House of Cards. From what we can gather, Carrie, now CIA Station Chief in Istanbul, has her hands full trying to raise her newborn child as well as trying to deal with a sticky situation in Pakistan.
Homeland fans will be glad to know that Carrie appears as spiky as ever, while there’s the usual dose of secrecy, double-crossing and suspense that made the first three series so appealing in the first place.
We can’t wait.
The first episode of Season Four of Homeland premieres in the US on October 5 and will follow on RTE Two shortly afterwards.
