Tom Hanks stars as Captain Richard Phillips who was taken hostage by Somali Pirates in 2009 and the film looks like it could be a real hit.

The flick, directed by Paul Greengrass, is set for release some time around October but if the trailer is anything to go by it will be well worth a viewing.

In 2009, a crew of Somali pirates seized control of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama – the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in 200 years.

Greengrass, who directed films the Bourne trilogy and United 93, has brought the story to the big screen and focuses on Captain Phillips, the man in charge of the ship.
