Cartoon Saloon have another winner on their hands.
The incredible Irish animation studio behind The Secret Of Kells have released their latest fantastic fantasy film, Song Of The Sea, and it’s another cracker.
With a lethal line-up of top Irish voice talent including Brendan Gleeson, Lisa Hannigan, Pat Shortt, Jon Kenny and living legend Fionnula Flannagan, Song Of The Sea is a genuinely fantastic folk tale for a new generation and is a film that all Irish people can be proud of.
The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature earlier this year and it’s certainly easy to see why.
To celebrate the film’s release, we sent JOE’s resident atrocious illustrator Eoghan Doherty (trust us, he’s really, really, really bad at drawing) along to chat to one of the main creative talents behind Song Of The Sea, director Tomm Moore, and vocal star of the show, Moone Boy’s Dave Rawle, who plays Ben, a young Irish boy who has to protect his sister on a magical, Irish adventure.
Enjoy…
