Ever the professional, the reporter just about keeps the smile off his face.
The life of a TV reporter out and about on the streets of Ireland is always treacherous. Irish people have an inner compulsion to interact with a live TV camera. This is usually reserved to waving awkwardly in the background of shots but occasionally a much more subtle, and funny, idea springs into a passing person’s mind.
Such an incident happened tonight as RTE’s David Davin Power was speaking to the studio from outside Government Buildings in Dublin city centre. A passer by gave David a very enthusiastic wolf whistle as he walked past and the reporter almost let a smirk play across his face. Almost.
We could make a comment here about whistle blowers and Government Buildings but we’ll leave that up to yourself.
Big thanks to Sean Granville for the video
