Video: Star Trek’s Captain Picard does a brilliant cover version of ‘Let It Snow’

It’s not the First Contact we’ve had with this particular tune...

Eoghan Doherty

For those people who like to Klingon to the original versions of songs, you can forget about your Dean Martins and your Frank Sinatras – Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) has the best cover version you’re going to hear this Christmas.

Following his excellently executed instrumental intro, everyone’s favourite Star Trek captain (right!?) launches into a brilliant rendition of ‘Let It Snow’ AKA ‘Make It So.’ Clearly he wants to make it boldly snow where no snow has gone before.

There’s been no mention of any plans to release the seasonal single but, if he does, hopefully it’ll be available for download, on CD and the Vinyl frontier.

The VINYL frontier, get it? It’s a Star Tr… ah, never mind.

In the crackin’ clip, which was created by YouTuber jamescovenant, the Captain doesn’t just perform alone, however, as he’s ably joined by his crooning crew of Commander Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Worf (Michael Dorn) and Lieutenant Commander Data (Brent Spiner), amongst others.

JOE’s favourite bit? “Shut up Wesley.”

Yeah Wesley, shut up.

Happy Christmas everyone… apart from you Wesley Crusher.
