So this is just a little weird.

The couch gag is such a recognisable element of every single Simpsons episode (some would say it has too big a role to play in more recent episodes) that it’s understandable that someone would want to pay tribute, but this isn’t the first thing we’d think of. We’re not sure what exactly the point of this exercise was but YouTube user Omni Verse decided to mash 554 episodes worth of couch gags into one video, together with the audio from every clip and the end results sounds a bit like Lisa’s saxomophone did when it had been repeatedly trampled on the street after Bart threw it out the window. http://youtu.be/isFooVmbjcg One noticeable thing about the video, however, is that the couch gags towards the bottom of the screen – the more recent episodes – last for a good bit longer than those at the top, illustrating the belief that more emphasis has been placed on the couch gag since the quality of the episodes themselves has decreased over the years. That said, there have been some quality couch gags throughout the show’s history and if we had to pick a favourite, we’d probably go for this… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faRlFsYmkeY Video via YouTube/Omni Verse Hat-tip: Mashable
