WATCH: A spine-tingling version of the Game of Thrones theme tune by a busker in Sydney

Conor Heneghan

We’re going to go ahead and say that this is better than the actual Game of Thrones theme tune.

There won’t be a new season until well into next year and it won’t be long until it’s over for good, but the theme tune to Game of Thrones is so iconic that it will live long after the show finishes up.

With memorable pieces of music such as this, it’s usually a case of often copied, never equalled, but we can’t help but think that the version of the theme played by a busker on a violin at Town Hall Station in Sydney.

According to Pedestrian, the busker is Vasiliy Shapkin and he’s developed a reputation for his musical skills in Australia’s biggest city.

Deservedly so too, this wouldn’t sound out of place in King’s Landing…
