A testament to just how much Limerick meant to the late broadcaster.

The great Terry Wogan passed away in January of this year, having lost his battle with cancer at the age of 77. Wogan was born and raised in Limerick but he worked in the UK for most of his career, where he became a beloved figure thanks to his work on television and radio, mostly on the BBC, for the best part of 50 years. Despite living and working in the UK for most of his life, Limerick continued to mean a lot to Wogan right up until his death, as Ryan Tubridy can testify to in this clip from the latest episode in RTÉ’s Legacy series on Monday night. Tubridy, who often filled in for Wogan on his BBC radio show, speaks about the last message he received from Wogan and about the importance of home to a broadcaster who was obviously a huge influence of the Late Late show presenter. https://youtu.be/U5X7vKfUzKU Clip via RTÉ Wogan: A Legacy, airs on RTÉ One on Monday at 9.35pm.
