WATCH: Irish fella tells his mother live on ITV that he got a tattoo in Magaluf

Her reaction is classic Irish mammy.

JOE

She took it very well, surprisingly.

We’ve all seen Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents at this stage? It follows groups of teens as they go to party areas in Europe such as Magaluf, unaware that their parents are secretly watching their every move.

While it’s classic trash reality TV, it does shine a light on how popular these kinds of holidays have become with young people during the summer, usually after completing their Leaving Cert or on holidays from college.

Matthew Nolan from Drogheda jetted off to Magaluf last Wednesday along with seven of his mates, intent on having a good time in the Spanish resort.

While over on his holiday, Matthew met an ITV camera crew who were doing a segment for ITV’s Good Morning Britain. The topic? Young people who got drunken tattoos while in Magaluf.

Matthew himself was intent on getting a tattoo while over there, so it was a fortunate meeting for both parties as they decided to document his experience getting the tattoo.

Yes, Matthew got the word “Despacito” tattooed on his foot, which he will in absolutely no way regret in a few years’ time, but for now, he’s happy with it and we salute him for it.

But the story doesn’t end there…

He got on so well with the camera crew that they asked him if he’d appear live on the show the next morning to explain his decision to get the tattoo to his poor mother, Geraldine.

Geraldine received a call from Good Morning Britain, but had no idea what it was about.

Her reaction is classic Irish mammy. She even tries to embarrass him by claiming he’s a massive Justin Bieber fan.
